Files
GBKiss content is stored in files. Players can run software files directly, and can open data files with software. The GBKiss menu has options for running, organizing, and exchanging files. Each file occupies some number of storage blocks in cartridge RAM (CRAM).
Files are marked with one of five symbols:
- (bullseye): the special built-in Kiss Mail app. Can be run but not sent.
- (circle): executable software. Can be run and sent.
- (diamond): executable software with storage limitations. Can be run and sometimes sent.
- (cross): software with unmet cartridge limitations. Cannot be run.
- (triangle): data files. Can be opened in associated software, if installed.

Software files are marked with , , or . -type software can only be sent when the recipient has 31 blocks free.
Games
Data
Data files are marked with . If the associated software is installed, they use the software’s icon; otherwise they use the SIMULA1 icon from Icon-Send. The exception is Icon files, which always use their own icon.
