Files

GBKiss content is stored in files. Players can run software files directly, and can open data files with software. The GBKiss menu has options for running, organizing, and exchanging files. Each file occupies some number of storage blocks in cartridge RAM (CRAM).

Files are marked with one of five symbols:

Software

Software files are marked with bullseye, circle, or diamond. diamond-type software must be installed in specific slots, so there is a limit on the number of diamond-type files installed separate from the space required.

Data

Data files are marked with triangle. If the associated software is installed, they use the software’s icon; otherwise they use the SIMULA1 icon from Icon-Send. The exception is Icon files, which always use their own icon.
